1794958_10151984243418635_485717036_oI’m Sara Galipeau, a nutritionist (Registered Holistic Nutritionist / Certified in Holistic Nutrition, CSNN ’11, Advanced Nutrition, CSNN ’12) and long-time herbivore.

I started out vegetarian in high school and made the switch to vegan in university, all for the love of animals – and noticed amazing health benefits in the first year after I not only fully dropped animal products from my menu, but also cleaned up my diet as a whole – and started eating more plants. Real whole plant foods. You’ll often hear me say that Oreos and peanut butter do not a healthy vegan make!

It wasn’t easy. Once I recognized my trigger foods and got a little more organized, that’s where the magic started to happen! My skin cleared up – a constant problem since I was 10 years old. I stopped getting throat infections (and the accompanying 1 to 2 rounds of antibiotics) every. single. winter. My endurance and energy levels rose. I lost the most stubborn 15 lbs and felt fabulous┬áin my wedding dress. And I laughed and smiled more.

It was this lightbulb moment that pushed me to learn more about nutrition at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition, about what does and doesn’t work for my body (dairy and I physically don’t get along, for example), and how I could help people like you change their lives, the plant-powered way. I’m not perfect, and I’ve had my share of ups and downs, like you. As such, I’m not about perfection or judgment. I’m here to help you find your best self, while contributing the least harm to the animals and our planet.
